The DALLMER Extension Shoe is designed to correct axi- al limp malformation in foals. The enlarged sole platform supports the foal‘s leg more than just on the propulsion surface of the hoof. The weight-bearing region of the sole is displaced, and the hoof adjusts to a new centre of gravity. One-sided extension of the heel support eneourages the foal to align the toe.

The extension shoe is fitted by screwing the adjustable half of the shoe wall located on the extended side onto the sole in accordance with the size of the hoof. The hoof itself is corrected by trimming down the bearing edge according to standard practice depending on flexion or rotation of the toe region.
